This work is from a series documenting the architecture of county and state fairgrounds. I spent three years, from 1978 to 1980 photographing all of Minnesota's 93 county fairgrounds. In 1981 and 1983 I traveled west and photographed county and state fairgrounds in ten states. I returned to the project in 1995 and 1996 and photographed fairground architecture extensively in Iowa and Wisconsin and seven other states. The series contains over 100 images, 20 of which are shown here. Contemporary Prints are 22X28 Archival Pigment Prints. Vintage prints were chromogenic prints 13X16 and 17X22. Vintage and contemporary prints are availble from Joseph Bellows Gallery in La Jolla CA.
